Budapest

We had some time for a short walk in the center of Budapest before we attend the Formula 1 event on the race track.

As Budapest is only around 770 km away from Sofia, making a road trip to get there was no-brainer. We took the fastest route – through Serbia on the highways. As we drove on Sat there was a lot of traffic and waiting on the borders, especially on the Serbian-Hungarian border – 3 hours of waiting… On our way back we took another less known border crossing – Tompa-Subotica. It was quite OK – around 20 min or something. On the Serbian-Bulgarian border we passed even quicker – around 15 min! As it was Mon on our back to Sofia, we learned a very important lesson this day – do not travel through country borders during the weekends in the middle of the summer!
