Perfect Vacation – Day 6

Finally it was time for the second part of our long trip back to Bulgaria

The Route

The bus stopped us around 10 min walk away from the hotel – it could not get further as it was very tight. Thus, we had to drag our luggage at 1.30 in the middle of the night around dark buildings and streets with no lights. Very creepy place. The hotel was kind of punishment. Literally! I have not been in such a crappy place in my life. Ever! The whole building was falling apart, the rooms were very small, the beds were small, it was dirty and smelly, you can hear the water running in the sewage pipes, in the shower there was a pillow (don’t ask me why), the power sockets were placed on such weird locations so that your devices must know how to levitate to get charged, they offered us “dinner” (two thin slices of bread with some extremely thin sausage in the middle), the breakfast was kind of mocker, no comments… I couldn’t wait to get out of there!

During our ride back to Larissa we managed to negotiate a bus with one of the Bulgarian transportation companies. It turned out that our embassy lied us that the bus for our extraction. This, of course, led to a lot of conflicts and scandals with the other passengers who wanted to get in the same bus. Absolute mess…

To be Continued…

As we left the cars and a lot of luggage behind in Mikro we had to return there again to take them back to Sofia. First though, we had to wait for the Greek authorities to repair the damaged roads and bridges which nobody knew how much time it will take…
